'Til We Meet Again

For all who have followed this blog we are sad to tell you that Michalla finally ended her journey here on earth (and joined Trump on the other side) at 2:41 am on Sunday June 15th 2014.

Around 8:30 pm Saturday night her heart signals started to change which indicated to the doctors that we only had a few hours left with her.  Teri, Rich, Kim, Clint and I sat around her bed listening to songs and hymns, telling stories and saying goodbye. Teri gave Michalla her last 11:11 kiss Saturday night (a family tradition).

Thank you all for the amazing love and support.  The funeral is tentatively planned for Thursday, June 19th.  Details to follow on this blog.

Here are the songs we listened to in her final hours:
  • a whole new world - aladin
  • i see the light - tangled
  • stop this train - john mayer
  • time of our life - tyrone wells
  • mumford and sons - come thou fount of every blessing
  • Colm Wilkinson - Bring Him Home
  • Owl City - In Christ Alone (I Stand)
  • I Can Only Imagine (with lyrics) - MercyMe
  • mercy me - finally make it home
  • Rascal Flatts-Changed
  • Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing - Mormon Tabernacle Choir
  • I Won't Let Go - Rascal Flatts - Lyrics
  • Elders Chris Nicholes & Ben Preisendorf - If You Could Hie To Kolob/Come Thou Fount Medley
  • Feels Like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk

  7. Teri,
Thank You for sharing each step of this journey. Through these words I've quietly witnessed miracles as Michalla fought and fought against each obstacle. Your love and support has been unwavering. You are the Michalla's biggest miracle and have been a source of her strength. She has been very blessed to have your love and support at her side. My thoughts are with you and your family.

  11. Thank for sharing this journey with us and allowing us to get to know just how wonderful Michalla is. As sad as this journey has been, it has also been inspiring. May you all feel the love of our Savior and feel his peace and hold on to that when the months ahead may seem unbearable. What I think is amazing is that Michalla wanted to serve a mission to tell people about the plan of salvation and that there is life after death. Well, she has done that. She has served her mission in a different capacity and she has had such an impact on so many people because of it. Thank you again and we will continue to pray for you all.

  19. Today our hearts are saddened for our beautiful student and friend. Michalla was courageous and strong through out her fight. She touched so many lives here at The Forum and we will remember all the fun memories we had together. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her spunky, fun personality will be greatly missed. She will always be remembered with great admiration. Thank you Michalla for being a great example to us. We Love and will miss you!!! Teri and Rich, thank you for bringing such an amazing daughter into this world.

  21. What a courageous, amazing girl! I don't know Michalla, but I live in PG, and have been following this blog, and have seen the contribution buckets at various businesses here in town. I am amazed at how incredible she is! What a blessing her story is to so many of us. We shared her story today in our Young Women class with the girls. Her story will be one of strength and determination to all of us who go through trials. Thank you to Michalla and her family for writing posts throughout these past few months. I am grateful for brothers and sisters in the gospel that share faith strengthening experiences. Since my parents are converts, we have many, many family members that have passed away, that need the gospel taught to them. I'm relying on Michalla to be that awesome sister missionary I know she would have been here on earth - to teach the gospel to my grandparents, aunts and uncles, and great-grandparents, and so on. :) I hope and pray that my (now 3 year old) daughter can be as incredible as Michalla someday. What an example she is! Prayers and much love to Michalla's family.
    Love, Mollie Olorenshaw

  23. I literally read through every single post again last night and then this morning I came on to see if there was an update and saw that she left the presence of her earthly family to be reunited with her heavenly father.. how bittersweet!! I will keep all of you in my heart and in my prayers! May she be Restored in Paradise.... until you meet again!

  25. Teri,
I want you to know how much I love you. You have been a rock of faith through this trial. You and michalla have a beautiful bond. It's been a testimony builder as I have followed this blog that last 2 years. I'm sorry Gods plan wasn't for her to stay but it's comforting to know she is in his loving arms as he welcomed her home. He must be very proud of the women she became in this earthly life. She will make an amazing missionary in the spirit world and will get to bring many into the gospel. Thanks again for sharing this sacred experience and for always sharing your testimony in every post. I have grown so much through the two of you. Love ya tons! Frances Baldwin
